Synth-pop godfather Gary Numan has been a vital force in the electronic-music scene for more than four decades. But rather than leaning on nostalgia, the English singer-songwriter continues to put out new music, with his 19th studio LP, Intruder, arriving just a few years ago. Two weeks into a new North American tour, he dazzled Webster Hall last night, following an amped-up opening set from local noise-rock trio A Place to Bury Strangers.
