Belle and Sebastian’s New Album Out Today
May 06, 2022
Scottish indie-pop collective Belle and Sebastian have been going strong for more than 25 years. And they’re getting lots of (well-deserved) love for their newest album, A Bit of Previous, out today. “Grounded by lockdown, the veteran indie-pop septet made an album in their hometown of Glasgow for the first time in 22 years,” says NME. “The result is glorious.” Clash Music adds:“Belle and Sebastian have had a knack for creating earworms, and this record is no exception.” And per AllMusic:“It’s in the album’s unlikely combination of weighty sentiments and cheerful (if especially diverse) sounds that Belle and Sebastian grow, offering up an honest assessment of what getting older feels like when you’re one of the world’s best indie-pop bands.” So give A Bit of Previous a listen and then make sure to grab tickets to see them perform live when they come to Central Park to play SummerStage on 6/16.
(Belle and Sebastian play Franklin Music Hall in Philadelphia on 6/17.)
